How Dry Heat (Make-Up Air) Works

Moisture control is a huge advantage of Mobile Air's dry-heat solutions. We configure our heaters to continuously draw in cool, dry, outside air. This air is heated and forced into the building as hot, dry air that leaches the moisture out of concrete, drywall, paint, and other finish construction materials. Our make-up air approach ensures that humidity is controlled at your location.

The resulting moisture-laden air is then forced out of the building through natural gaps in the building envelope. This process, called exfiltration, is facilitated by the positive internal building pressure created by the specially designed fans in our portable heaters.

How Recirculation Works (or Doesn’t)

Recirculation has been used for years as the standard method of providing construction heat. The Mobile Air Force often uses the recirculation method for applications like deck pours and spray-on fireproofing when the exterior building envelope consists of only tarps flapping in the wind. However, recirculation poses inherent problems when the roof is on, walls are up, and temporary enclosures are installed over windows and doors. In these cases, make-up air is the best solution.
