Salamander Heaters - A Poor Choice

Due to safety and quality control concerns, Mobile Air does not rent, sell, or recommend the use of salamander heater units.

Safety is the #1 priority at Mobile Air. As a result, we do not utilize or supply salamander units, as they are known to produce unsafe work conditions. Furthermore, Salamander units create excessive moisture, which inhibits drying and curing processes.

Dangerous Issues Caused by Salamander Heaters

  • Slip & Fall Hazards - These units increase condensation on walls, ceilings, and floors, increasing the risk of accidents.
  • Electrocution Risks - These heaters create excessive condensation, which poses electrocution hazards.
  • Carbon Monoxide Dangers - Salamander units produce more than 50 parts per million (ppm) of carbon monoxide, which can cause headaches & dizziness. OSHA standards prohibit worker exposure of more than 50 ppm averaged during an 8-hour time frame.
  • Gas Leak Threat - Salamander heaters are also prone to chimney effects, increasing the risk of gas leaks.

Because of these safety concerns and quality control issues, Mobile Air does not use salamander heater units in our fleet. However, we have plenty of safer, more effective units available for your heating requirements. With a range of portable heaters available for rental, we will find the perfect solution for your application.
